Hyperlink PMID numbers in bibliography

[ Edited ]

It seems that more and more of our clients are asking for PMID numbers to be hyperlinked. If we manually do this in a Word file and then someone updates the reference list, it has to be redone. I do know that if I insert the base link for Pubmed into the style, it will add the link to the PMID number but it looks funny. Is there any way that this can be done?

Thank you

Re: Hyperlink PMID numbers in bibliography

Thank you for the Product Suggestion. If you wanted to do this manually, you can use the EndNote command in Word to Convert to Plain Text. This will create a new copy of the document with the EndNote field codes removed. This should be done as a final step when you are done using EndNote. At this point, you can then use Word's hyperlinking feature to make text like the PMID a hyperlink.
