Why do my in-texts look like this {Coleman, 1990 #203}?

I'm working on editing my dissertation proposal and in-text citations that I'm adding look like this.

{Coleman, 1990 #203}

It's also not adding to the reference list at the bottom of the document.

Why is it doing this and how do I fix this?

Am I going to have to delete all my citations and re-enter them by hand?

Check that Instant formatting is not turned off. See EndNote menu in Word (3rd. column). Change it to "On".

Choosing "Update Citations and Bibliograhpy" should also format unformatted citations.

Best wishes
